Cicada Apron 2024, Cotton, Screenprinted

Broods XIX and XIII are coming! This is the first time these two broods will co-emerge since 1803 and it won't happen again for another 221 years. A pretty big deal for cicada fans!

This detailed illustration was created from a photo I took during the Brood X emergence of 2021. Image is screen printed in water-based black ink onto a super soft, comfy T and then the little red eyed are hand colored.

Hello Cicadas! We've been waiting for you!

This detailed Cicada portrait has been screen printed onto a thick, sturdy cotton apron with adjustable neck in black ink and hand colored with those bright red eyes. A great gift for Father’s Day to commemorate the great Cicada emersion !

The Details:
- Apron is unbleached, 100% cotton - a creamy, ivory shade
- one size, adjustable neck loop
- Thick canvas, machine washable
- Printed with water-based non-toxic inks
- Ink has been carefully heat set but some fading/softening of image may still occur
- Hand screen printed with my original image in small batches in my studio in Baltimore, MD

Proper Care:
- machine wash, oxyclean or similar to get stains out
