Cicada Tea Towel 2024, Screenprinted Cotton Flour Sack

Hello 2024 cicadas! Broods XIX and XIII are coming! This is the first time these two broods will co-emerge since 1803 and it won't happen again for another 221 years. A pretty big deal for cicada fans!

This detailed illustration was created from a photo I took during the Brood X emergence of 2021.

This beautifully detailed towel is hand colored with GIANT RED EYES somyoumknownitnis a periodical cicada. The Details:
- Towel is unbleached, 100% cotton - a creamy, ivory shade
- Measures approximately 29" x 29"
- Lint-free and very absorbent - great for drying glassware and everyday kitchen use
- Printed with water-based non-toxic inks
- Image has been lovingly ironed to set ink but slight fading/softening of image may still occur
- Hand screen printed in small batches in my studio in Baltimore, MD

Proper Care:
- Machine wash regular, tumble dry, iron on reverse as needed. May also be soaked in OxyClean or similar to get out pesky stains.
